Can I use Creative Fabrica Crafts and Graphics for Amazon KDP?

If you are planning to use Print on Demand services for self-publishing, such as Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing, you are allowed to use Crafts and Graphics as-is, in or on the cover of a book, as long as the book also contains content that you have created yourself. This applies to novels, children’s books, and low-content books such as planners, journals, notebooks.

The only exceptions are products from our Needlecrafts category, which cannot be used for POD of any kind including KDP.

Below you can read about the specific rules for different types of books that can be published via a self-publishing service/site.

High Content Books e.g. Novels and Children's books

If you have written a book yourself that contains your own artwork and content, any graphics and crafts from Creative Fabrica would be considered complementary to your end product. The graphics and crafts are not the main design in this case, and you are therefore allowed to use the graphics and crafts as-is, as they are part of your design and therefore follow the rules in our commercial license.

Low content books

If you create a low content book you are also allowed to use our graphics and crafts without modification, as long as there is other content within the book that you have created yourself. For example, in a planner, you might add some pre-written text which the end-user later can use to fill in/plan their day. Similarly, if you have partially illustrated the book yourself, you can use Creative Fabrica graphics and crafts alongside your original work.

Lined books

As long as you have created the lines and templates within the book yourself, this counts as content created uniquely by you. Therefore, any crafts or graphics that you use in or on this book are complementary to your design.

No-content books without any pre-written content or images

If you have created a book where you have not created any original content yourself, you need to modify the designs downloaded from Creative Fabrica in order to be allowed to use them in your book.
